Obituary: Thurman “Babe” Donnar, 93, of 8320 N. Pierce Road, Bruceville, IN passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home.
Born November 13, 1918 in Knox County, Indiana, he was the son of Edward M. and Rosa (Good) Donnar. His parents preceded him, as well as three sisters and two brothers.
Surviving is his wife, Vera (Cornelison) Donnar, whom he married June 5, 1949 in Salem, IN; his children, Cindy (Dave) Fisher of Vincennes, IN, Denise Reed of Bruceville, IN, and Kent (Barbara) Donnar of Bruceville, IN; grandchildren, Michelle (Aaron) Reagan of Danville, IN, Leah Donnar, and Hannah Donnar of Bruceville, IN; great-grandchildren, Quentin, Brianna and Peyton Reagan of Danville, IN; and a sister-in-law, Garnett Donnar, of Vincennes, IN.
Thurman was a self-employed builder, and a member of the Emison United Methodist Church. During WWII, he served in the Medical Department 204th Gen Hospital on the island of Guam. Babe loved music and playing his guitar. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing cards.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 – 11:30 on Saturday, May 5, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. A service will follow at 11:30. Interment will be in the Oaktown Cemetery.
