Juanita R. Fuller, 88, Vincennes, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Bridgepointe Health Campus in Vincennes. The daughter of Arthur and Ver Shofstall, she was born on February 13, 1924 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Juanita was a 1942 graduate of Lincoln High School. She married Ray Fuller on July 5, 1946. Juanita was the Librarian (Library Lady) at Franklin Elementary School for 25 1/2 years. She often said those were the best years of her life. She loved her co-workers and the many kids that passed through "her" library over the years. Juanita was a 50+ years member of First Baptist Church. It was said by many that if the church doors were open, Juanita would be there. She served as a Deaconess and on numerous committees at church. Juanita was an American Red Cross volunteer for many years at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a member of the Meadowlark Homemakers Club. Ray and Juanita spent many years square dancing. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards with "The Gang" and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Bill Fuller Sr. from Kemp,Texas, a daughter Kathy Like and her husband, Rick from Las Vegas, NV, a daughter Julie Napier and her husband,Neal of Vincennes; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several great-greats and several nieces and nephews. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray, and daughters Jeanine Gilday and Sue Newcomer. Visitation will be Friday, June 22 from 11-1, wihe the service following at 1 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway in Vincennes. Pastor Dan Clemens will be officiating.
